The Liebster Award is an award by bloggers, for bloggers and I have received two nominations. I am thrilled that other bloggers are reading my blog and have given me a little boost to carry on!A big thank you to Sydney at Savageabroad blog and Jennifer over at Until I hold you again for my nominations.

As an award winner I answer questions asked by Sydney and Jennifer then nominate 10 bloggers I admire for an award. They then answer my questions and nominate 10 of their favourite bloggers and so the love baton keeps moving through the interwebs, encouraging bloggers to keep sharing the love.

The Liebster rules:

  • Link back and recognise the blogger who nominated me (thanks Sydney and Jennifer!).
  • Answer 10 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 10 inspirational bloggers for the award.
  • Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
  • Notify your nominees

Both Sydney and Jennifer asked some great questions. Here are my answers:

Questions from Jennifer:

1. Why did you start blogging?

I wanted to connect with other Yogi’s, bloggers and those interested in living a healthy life, to answer some of the frequent questions I get asked from folks in my yoga classes and share information on Yoga and wellbeing more widely.

2. What do you find to be the most difficult part about blogging?

Keeping up the momentum and writing on a regular basis, inspiration and motivation tend to come in fits and spurts. I’m aiming for consistency, so it’s a challenge. I get easily overwhelmed, as there is always a steady flow of ideas, ongoing site admin, blogs to read, that keep constant to do list on the go.

3. Where do you get your inspiration from?

From my classes, the questions I get asked by clients and from my own personal challenges.

4.  What advice would you give someone thinking about starting a blog?

Choose an area you are passionate about so you can keep inspired and motivated to share on an ongoing basis. Then write, write, write. It’s easy to get caught up in blog site design, but it’s the writing that matters most.

5. What is your favorite aspect of blogging?

The other blogs I’ve discovered, connections made and beautiful friendships formed.

6. What other hobbies do you have?

I’m an eternal student, I always have my nose stuck in a book. I love learning about nutrition, I’m passionate about yoga, cooking and I love being out in nature, walking with my family.

7. If you could describe yourself as your favorite snack, what would it be and why?

I love raw chocolate, chocolate mouse, chocolate brownies, not sure what that says about me :).

8. How do you spend your free time?

My free time is taken up with keeping my blog up to date, writing new posts, spending time with family and of course yoga.

And Sydneys questions:

1. What has been the biggest lesson you learned from blogging?

To reach out and connect with others. Working doing something you love doesn’t mean it’s easy, connecting with others makes the world of difference, we all need support and encouragement to keep going from time to time.

2. What is your favourite quote? Why?

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” Dr Seuss. It puts everything into perspective and is a great reminder to be YOU!

3. Where do you draw inspiration for posts?

From my yoga classes, the questions that comes up and from my own challenges day to day.

4. What was your greatest fear about starting a blog?

That no one would read it or find it useful.

5. Do you collect anything from travel?

My memories. Travel is where dreams are made and new inspiration is formed.

6. What is your biggest anxiety about travel?

A general anxiety of entering into the unknown. My mind is always full of questions, nervous excitement and anticipation for what’s to come.

7. When I travel I can’t leave without…..

Plenty of snacks so I don’t go hungry on long journeys and my kindle loaded up with some good books.

8. What has been the greatest lesson learned from your travels?

To be open to new experiences, the unexpected, not to cling too rigidly to plans and take opportunities as they arise.
